Why good PR and marketing translations are so important

When translated well, advertising and marketing copy is the key to international success for your company.

Whether print or online: your marketing copy should make an impact – for every language in which you want to communicate. This enables you as a company to ensure your message reaches precisely the people it should. We translate your press releases, newsletters, websites and blogs, social media posts and all other kinds of advertising assets – from ads and brochures to copy on posters, to radio ads and TV commercials.

What we don’t do: translate word for word

Particularly important to us: when it comes to the translation of marketing copy, we transcreate. This means we don’t translate word for word, but make sure that no one ever notices the copy is a translation, in the best case. We find plays on words and pictures which match the target group’s use of the language and culture. The result is advertising and marketing copy that is virtually guaranteed to make a good impression on your target group.

We go a step further

To maintain an overview of the terminology you use, we set up a dual-language database using a translation memory tool. You benefit from this in two ways: we can guarantee the consistent and correct use of terminology and your corporate language. And we can reuse text passages that have already been translated at one point – which can lower the costs for you. Are you not completely happy with the existing translations of your website, press releases and newsletters? We can help you with our text styling service and the (further) development of your corporate language.

Translating websites and other marketing copy – how we work

The step-by-step process of delivering your communications in various languages

1. You send us your translation request, ideally with the text to be translated. Is the copy still a work in progress? Then simply send us your assessment of the expected scope.

2. After reviewing the text, we talk with you about any special format or spelling requirements you may need, and then we advise you on language variants, terminology, target groups, etc.

3. We send you an offer with no obligations.

4. Once we have received your go, we begin our work: text analysis, selection of suitable translators, internal quality control, approval, etc.

5. You receive the finalised translation.
We are always there for you should you have any questions.

It is in our translation office in Hamburg where all the strings for professional, expert translations come together. You can bounce off your ideas with us, have us manage your translation project and ensure the text quality – all from a single source.

For every project, we harness our extensive pool of roughly 30 language experts to create a team for you that perfectly matches your needs.

Contact us Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. should you have any questions or last-minute changes to the project. We aim to make you happy with the translation of your marketing copy or website, newsletter or press release.

Our mission:  to build bridges with text

As experts in language, text and culture, we forge ties between companies and their customers – by listening closely, taking a closer look at things and thinking out of the box to advise you. The result: tailored solutions so that your copy makes a positive impact.

Frequently asked questions

… and our answers!

The key to successful marketing copy: the message has to hit the point exactly for the target group – in every language and culture. This is why it is necessary to transcreate the text, by moving away from the original to find the right idiomatic phrase that expresses the message in a powerful way.

We work swiftly and are able to meet even short-term deadlines. Short translations involving one of our key languages can be delivered within 24 hours. If you need it even faster: we also work carefully under pressure. Give us a ring – we’ll see what we can do for you in the best-possible way.

German, English, French, Portuguese and Spanish are our five key languages. We offer translations in the following language combinations:

  • German–English/English–German
  • German–Spanish/Spanish–German
  • German–French/French–German
  • German–Portuguese/Portuguese–German
  • English–Portuguese/English–Spanish/English–French

We calculate our prices based on the following factors:
What is the level of difficulty of the text in terms of technicality and quality?
What type of text is required?
Where and how will the text be used?
Which target group(s) should be addressed?
Is a terminology service required or useful?
Is certification required?

Timing also plays a role: if you need it done very quickly and we are working for you late in the evening or at the weekend, we charge an express or weekend surcharge.

Yes. Before starting, we ask you about your desired spellings, any names and other special factors such as your corporate language.

A translation memory is a virtual database of bilingual translation content. With the help of a translation memory system, customer or language-specific databases can be created that ensure continuity in terms of wording, spelling and terminology and which document all the content of a customer or language pair. We work with RWS Trados.

If you send files to us via the contact form or email, these are encrypted in line with European GDPR requirements. On request, we can set up your own account so that you can easily and securely upload your documents to our server via drag and drop.
