Our two correction steps
A single project frequently runs through two correction steps: the first step takes place during the manuscript phase, usually in MS Word.
We send our corrections to you, which you then load into the layout, either in-house or outsourced.
In the second step, the layout with the corrected text is sent to us. In this layout phase, we check if all the corrections we had made have been loaded correctly. What’s more, we take an even closer look at the word breaks, formatting, typography and other visual characteristics. After all, the text should not only be flawless in terms of its mechanics, it should also cut a fine figure.
If the text goes through just one correction step, then normally in the layout. In this case, both aspects – namely the text itself as well as how it is in the layout – are taken into account at the same time.
Generally speaking, we recommend that your text goes through both proofreading stages, having a final proofing after the incorporation of corrections. But one is definitely better than none!
How we collaborate with you
1. You send us your editing/proofreading request, ideally with the text in question or information regarding its scope.
2. We review your text and clarify with you if any special spellings are required. We also advise you on language variants, gender-appropriate language, etc.
3. You receive a non-binding offer from us.
4. Once you approve our offer, we start our proofreading or editing work according to your specifications.
5. You receive your finalised text.

We work quickly and can even keep last-minute deadlines. When it comes to short text in English or German, we can deliver within 24 hours. Just contact us with your wishes!
The prices for proofreading or editing a standard page can vary. How impactful is the text to be checked? How extensive are the additional review criteria (customer-specific wording, gender-appropriate rewording, etc.)? The deadline also plays a role: if you need it done very quickly and we are working for you late in the evening or at the weekend, we charge a rush or weekend surcharge.
Yes. Before starting, we ask you about your desired spellings, any names and other special factors such as your corporate language.
If you send us texts via the contact form or email, they are encrypted in accordance with the European GDPR. On request, we can also create your own account so that you can upload your texts to our server easily and securely via drag and drop. By the way: for data protection reasons, you should never enter sensitive company information into machine translation tools, but instead choose the secure route via a translation office.
